An Artist's Statement:
"I was an observer from the time I can remember. I was intrigued at the time by several questions, and I still am to this day: "Why do people do what they do?" What spurs their activities and responses? Why do people "tick"? These deeply empathetic connections are sensitive glimpses, whether it is an elderly woman's feeling of isolation, the outsider's anxiety when courting a new friend, the conflicting joy and sadness of the surrogate mother, or the lives of those who have passed away that have not been forgotten. These glimpses open a small window through which I also look inside my own emotional life while I assume the observer's perspective.
