Katheryn Hammer Daytona Beach Oil Artist

Katheryn Hammer-Witty is a retired educator.  She spent her formative years between the mountains in West Virginia and the sunny beaches of Florida.  This appreciation of the aesthetic appeal of nature has greatly influenced her passion for painting.  After her career in education, she returned to her passion for art.  She tried various mediums and styles  of expression through observation, workshops and classes at Crealde Art School.   Lessons with Noreen Coup and Sally Cummings Shisler developed an enthusiasm for Impressionism in oil with a Palette Knife.

My passion for art offers me the "lens" by which I observe a scene in light, shadow and color.      Painting provides the medium to create beyond the apparent.  May you, as the viewer,  enjoy these works as much as I enjoyed creating them.
